Katie Keith – Lodge Manager
Katie’s favourite part of the job is watching the seasons and landscape subtly change through the year. She is extremely proud of the lodge team who make going to work every day entertaining, fun and very rewarding. Thanks to the diverse range of guests that stay at the lodges, Katie has been lucky enough to have met some great people.
Perry Laterian – Lodge Assistant
One of our newest and trendiest members of the team, Perry loves chatting to guests at sundowners, catching up on the day’s comings and goings and meeting both old and new people. She is constantly learning more about sustainable tourism and environmental management. She has settled in to the Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary family really well, learning all the new tricks of the trade.
John Ndegwa Karanja – Head Guide and Sanctuary Manager
John is a walking encyclopaedia with his extensive knowledge covering any subject imaginable. He particularly enjoys the early morning hours, watching the scenery and animals as they wake up. He has shared some unforgettable memories with guests and loves the fact that being a guide allows him to show thousands of people the beauty of Kenya.
Richard Langat – Head Chef
Richard’s energy and enthusiasm for all things food is contagious. He is always experimenting in the kitchen, creating fabulous new flavours and dishes. Richard says cooking is like therapy and he loves the daily challenges it throws at him.
Zablon Khamati – Junior Chef
Zab is a quiet, conscientious and serious young man. Always taking notes and trying new recipes. He has come from being a trainee Chef to now being a very talented and exciting member of the catering team. He enjoys working in the hot kitchen most of all but is keen to sharpen his skills in the pastry department.
Michael Maina – Waiter Supervisor
Mr Mike’s big grin, good humour and sunny attitude towards life and work make him a very popular member of the team, both amongst his colleagues and the guests. He loves meeting our different guests and listening to their stories. He has a penchant for dance music and looks seriously trendy in his leather jacket when he is off duty!
Stanley Mtana – Waiter Supervisor
Stan the Man is “short, quiet and polite!” He loves mixing a good cocktail behind the bar. His supervision and organisation skills mean he is invaluable in making sure everything and everyone is in the right place at the right time. He is well respected amongst his colleagues and ever helpful with guests.
Susan Kagecha – Housekeeping Supervisor
Susan is the rock in housekeeping, a tireless worker with attention to detail. Her favourite part of the job is welcoming guests and seeing the expression on their faces when they first get to see the beauty of the lodges. She wants to be part of the team that make "Chui and Kiangazi the best lodges in the world!"
John Mudachi – Gardener
Always helpful and willing to lend a hand whenever and wherever required, John has blossomed from a quiet and consistent member of the team to an invaluable asset. He appreciates watching nature grow and enjoys it when Naibor the rhino comes to the Chui waterhole and watches him work.
